The SolarEdge Energy Hub is a comprehensive solution offered by SolarEdge, designed to streamline the management of solar power generation, energy storage, EV charging, and smart energy devices in residential settings. This single-phase DC optimized inverter incorporates SolarEdge’s prism technology, providing efficient power conversion and advanced monitoring capabilities.

When combined with a compatible battery and the Backup Interface, the Energy Hub offers homeowners automatic backup power during grid interruptions, ensuring continuous operation of essential home loads. This backup capability enhances energy resilience and provides peace of mind.

The Energy Hub’s functionality extends beyond backup power. It enables Smart Energy Management applications, allowing homeowners to optimize their energy usage and reduce electric bills. Solar energy can be stored in the connected battery and utilized during peak demand periods, reducing reliance on the grid and maximizing self-consumption. The system also offers export control, demand response, and time-of-use shifting capabilities.

Key Components of the StorEdge Solution:

Energy Hub Inverter: This inverter serves as the central component of the system, managing and optimizing the DC power generated by the solar panels. It is also responsible for managing energy flow to the battery, monitoring system performance, and facilitating smart energy management applications.

Connection Unit: Located at the bottom of the inverter, the Connection Unit simplifies installation and provides connectivity to other system components. It includes a DC Safety Switch for enhanced safety.

Batteries (optional): The Energy Hub is designed to work with compatible DC-coupled batteries, such as the SolarEdge Energy Bank or LG RESU series. These lithium-ion batteries provide energy storage capabilities and are seamlessly integrated into the system.

Backup Interface (optional, required for backup support): The Backup Interface controls the disconnection of house loads from the grid during power outages, enabling grid-tied solar backup. It also facilitates Smart Energy Management features. The installation of the Backup Interface is necessary for the operation of batteries and the inverter during backup mode.

Additional Components:

Energy Meter: The Energy Meter provides readings for export, import, production, and consumption of electricity. It enables Smart Energy Management applications such as export limitation, time-of-use profile programming, and maximizing self-consumption.

Auto-transformer: The Auto-transformer handles phase load balancing within the system, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

200A Microgrid Interconnection Device: This device disconnects house loads from the grid in the event of a power outage, safeguarding the system and enhancing safety.

Supported Batteries:
